Great Northern, a leader in engineered packaging solutions, received three awards, including a Gold Award and two Excellence Awards, at the 2016 North American Paperboard Packaging Competition held by the Paperboard Packaging Council in late October.
Great Northern’s gold-winning package was the “Badger Mountain Winery Powers Wine Box.” The goal of the project was to build brand visibility with high-end packaging. The Great Northern solution was heavy enough to support a bag in the package, and provide a moisture barrier for freezer and refrigeration consumer use.
Other Great Northern entries recognized included Excellence Awards for the following packages: Master Lock Bluetooth Padlocks Tray, and the Chinook Seedery – Sunflower Display Carton.

Administered and hosted by the Paperboard Packaging Council and judged by a jury of packaging professionals, industry experts, and professors, the Carton awards is the leading competition for carton manufacturers involved in the concept, design, print, performance, and shelf appeal of paperboard packaging.
