How Sweetwood Smoke & Co. Was Able To Add Another Level Of Branding To Their Package

Sweetwood Smoke & Co., maker of FATTY Smoked Meat Sticks, needed a shelf-ready package with an opening feature that would tear off cleanly and easily. They also needed to manage multiple SKUs with color consistency and wanted to have their branding printed on the inside of the package. Finally, they requested the packages to be strong enough to withstand the supply chain and retail environment.

The Bottom Line

For the package to meet the customer’s strength requirements, our designers used an engineered paperboard solution that allows for a shelf-ready opening feature to be applied to the package and tear off cleanly while still being firm enough so it does not blow apart during the converting processes. Each SKU has vibrant, eye-catching colors that are specific to that meat stick flavor inside. The interior printing color is the same as the outside and helps add another level of branding to the package. Finally, a specialty UV coating with high rub resistance and low-slip attributes was applied to prevent scuffing and scratching.
