Weight Watchers needed a package developed that is competitive to Z-Flute for a launch of a well-known grocery brand into club stores. They wanted reduced startup costs and lower run quantities to minimize risk. Our designers engineered the package structure to meet palletization specs and eliminate master cartons. We ran full scale production trials to test cartons on highly automated production equipment and in extreme temperature setting. Finally, full pallet shipping tests were performed to ensure the packaging would perform throughout the supply chain. The club store packaging enhanced the shelf image by using high-quality print and high-gloss coating.
Machineability and strength performance exceeded expectations and the customers marketing and production personnel recommended Great Northern for unit trays as well, to further product presentation upgrade. This has led to opportunities for other retail-ready business.
